What’s the difference between a wall light and a wall lantern?
We generally refer to modern lighting options as wall lights, whereas we call our more ornate or period-inspired pieces wall lanterns. The only real difference is aesthetic, and both wall lights and outdoor wall lantern lights function in the same way.

A passive infrared (PIR) lantern is a motion detecting outdoor lantern light. When it senses a moving source of heat, the light comes on. It’s a convenient way to light your outdoor space, and returns to standby mode by itself to help save electricity.
Can I install a post lantern myself?
These tall outdoor lanterns are at risk of toppling over if not installed correctly. That’s why we recommend hiring a qualified tradesperson to install it for you. This way, your light will also receive certification, and in most cases a guarantee.
